    I’M PEI

    2025     The name I. M. Pei has been etched in my memory since childhood. Long recognized as a master of modern architecture, his visionary legacy is defined by iconic landmarks such as the Fragrant Hill Hotel in Beijing, the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, and, most famously, the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. 

    Inspired by my recent visit to his exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai, I felt compelled to document—in some enduring form—both the architect himself and the quintessential triangular motif that forms the cornerstone of his architectural style.

    CALENDAR 2026
    Screen Print 
    2026     With each new year, I am always drawn to design a calendar. It is a way for me to express my understanding of time through graphic design.

    From the initial concept to the final visual, I chose a tube of toothpaste to symbolize the year. The daily routine of brushing our teeth morning and night naturally reminds me of the passing of days. The amount of toothpaste we squeeze out represents the flow of time itself—hours, minutes, and seconds.

    Furthermore, there is a popular saying in China: 'Time is something you squeeze out.' Even when we feel we have no time, we can always squeeze a little out. Therefore, the simple act of 'squeezing toothpaste' became the core concept for this 2026 calendar.

    3C Policy

    2025    Initially, I didn't pay attention to the new government regulations on 3C-certified power banks. It wasn't until I saw news online of countless passengers being forced to throw away their power banks at airports that I began to think about a series of deeper social questions:

    Is this a form of compliance testing?

    What should we do with the perfectly good power banks we bought before? 

    How many people will question this policy, and just how many are now forced to buy replacements?
